Friday, 8 AM May 31st. Michael Dolan lined up for his first ultra race on trails. The race started in Southwick, MA. Over 95% on trails. Most of the trails did not have good footing, and in some places the trails required climbing. For 31+ hours, he ran non stop, through the night, crossing streams, and dealing with darkness until he finished in Guilford, CT. Saturday afternoon, stepping in the Long Island Sound. Before they got to the water, they had to take the elevator at the Guilford train station to cross the tracks. The previous record was 38+ hours. Mike’s first try, and he broke the course record by over 7 hours!

The belt buckle he is holding is the reward given to all of those that complete the 112 miles.
